Jesus Sanchez
Jesus Sanchez has over 12 years experience in the nonprofit sector. He currently serves as the Volunteer Services Manager for the San Diego LGBT Community Center. He began his professional career working at Voices for Children (VFC) as an Advocacy Supervisor where he managed volunteers known as Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs). Jesus guided his volunteers through the child dependency system in San Diego, helping them effectively advocate for foster youth. While at VFC, Jesus was also their outreach coordinator and served on several committees to improve work life and company culture as well as show recognition to volunteers. Jesus recently returned to VFC as a volunteer CASA and is embracing the opportunity to be on the front-line of the organization. Jesus held leadership positions at San Diego Pride, where he planned the annual Pride Parade and oversaw over 1000 volunteers. In his time at Pride, Jesus built a leadership team of individuals that raised the bar in professionalism and leadership. Jesus has experience serving on a nonprofit board and has consulted with several local nonprofit organizations regarding board leadership, volunteer policies and procedures, ethics policies, and program design. Most recently, Jesus ran the alumni volunteer programs at UC San Diego (UCSD) and has played an integral role in elevating the recognition of UCSD alumni volunteers. He has developed programming to increase the engagement of volunteers and created opportunities for more volunteers to participate in leadership roles. Jesus is a graduate from the University of San Diego with a Masters in Nonprofit Leadership and Management.
