Carlos Medina
Born into a middle-class family of immigrants from Colombia and Mexico, on the unceded ancestral homeland of the Kumeyaay Nation, Carlos (he/him) contributes nearly 15 years of grant writing experience. He worked with The San Diego LGBT Community Center, Father Joe’s Villages, Champions for Health, and Mama’s Kitchen before serving as Learning Services Manager at Catalyst of San Diego & Imperial Counties. In 2022, he launched Carlos Medina Consulting and Grant Strategies.
As a Certified Fundraising Professional (CFRE) who has worked as a grant writer exclusively in health and human services, Carlos offers experience working with fundraising professionals, program directors, and community coalitions to reach fundraising goals and secure program awareness; contributes a background in sourcing private/public funding, initiating grants, managing budgets, and addressing donor queries with an emphasis on constituent satisfaction; and produces results by exercising self-discipline, resourcefulness, diligence, and a positive attitude.
