Development Clinic

Road Sign

Lack of written procedures can result in poor donor management and money down the drain.

eTapestry can keep track of your organization’s donors, prospects, and friends. When used systematically, it can be powerful and can be a huge benefit to growing and maintaining your records.But, too often missing written procedures and staff turnover result in wasted time and effort.

Let us help you solve this problem! Enroll in this 4-part clinic and develop your own Standard Operating Procedures which can be attached to the User Manual tab in your eTapestry database for all users.

Walk away from this clinic with customized operating procedures - tangible and immediately applicable to your organization!

Session 1: What Should My Manual Include?
  • Determine the core areas your manual should include, for your own organization's needs;
  • Develop a plan for building your manual - whose input is needed, priorities;
  • Review the outline provided, editing/revising the key sections needed for your organization.
Session 2: Recordkeeping - Accounts: Who, What, Why?
  • Develop/review your protocols for account entry;
  • For each type, how to enter, what defaults (i.e. newsletter, appeals);
  • Put samples of your entries into your Manual, with explanations.
Session 3: Recordkeeping - Counting: Money, hours, stuff, etc.
  • Determine/review your systems for recording information in the Journal;
  • Describe the logic for use of Fund, Campaign, and Appeal codes in your organization, with samples;
  • Determine/review who gets what information - accounting, marketing, volunteer coordinator, committees, board, etc;
  • Put samples of each record type into your Manual, with explanations.

Session 4: Pulling it All Together - Sharing with Others
  • Review your draft product. Identify gaps, and who might be best to fill them;
  • Develop your plan for sharing the Manual, and for keeping it current;
  • Attach your User Manual to your e-Tapestry database for all in your organization to use!
